A six-year-old boy identified as MWP was left in a coma after being electrocuted during an alleged bullying incident in Taman Kramat Pulo, Senen, Central Jakarta, on the evening of June 7, 2026. CCTV footage that circulated on social media shows two teenagers grabbing the child, carrying him to a metal pole believed to be electrified, and pressing his body against it. The boy struggled but collapsed unconscious shortly after, while the suspects fled the scene. He was rushed to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) for intensive care.

According to the victim’s grandmother, Linda Reselin, MWP has since regained consciousness but remains traumatised and fearful of strangers. The family has filed a formal police report, and authorities have launched an investigation. The incident has drawn widespread outrage in Indonesia, with many calling for stricter measures against juvenile delinquency and better public safety in urban parks. Viewed from Jakarta, the case underscores persistent concerns about child protection and the adequacy of law enforcement responses to bullying.
