That procedure, to treat atrophy of one vocal cord, was followed by an extended period of rehabilitation that kept him off stage. In the weeks before the residency, Bon Jovi had publicly expressed confidence in his recovery and his readiness to resume touring.

The incident occurred during the eighth of nine scheduled shows in the “Forever” residency, his first major concert run since the operation. It comes at a moment of heightened visibility for the band: a four-part documentary series was released in April 2024, and a feature film about the group’s early years is in development with Universal Pictures. The residency was widely seen as a test of whether the frontman could sustain a full concert schedule after his vocal rehabilitation. On social media, fans quickly shared messages of support.

No official update has been provided on the status of the final residency date or the singer’s condition. The band’s management said further information would be made available soon. For now, the episode leaves open the question of how reliably Bon Jovi’s voice can withstand the rigours of a live tour.
