The team of Rosa María Tapia, Nicolás Probert, Marcela Álvarez and Erik Ramos clocked 1:06:26 at the Port of Sans Souci course, finishing well ahead of Cuba (1:07:25) and Colombia (1:07:42). The margin of 59 seconds over the silver medallists reflected Mexico’s overall dominance throughout the event.

The mixed relay was the final triathlon competition of the Games. The Mexican delegation had already secured the four other golds on offer: Aram Peñaflor won the men’s individual race, Ana María Torres the women’s individual, and the country also triumphed in both the men’s and women’s team events. The relay therefore capped a perfect weekend, with the quartet maintaining a consistent rhythm across the swim, cycle and run legs before pulling clear in the closing stages.

Viewed from the broader context of the Santo Domingo Games, the result extended Mexico’s commanding lead in the overall medal table. According to official standings reported from the venue, the Mexican delegation had accumulated 114 gold, 78 silver and 62 bronze medals by the end of Monday’s competition, for a total of 254 medals. The triathlon sweep accounted for a significant proportion of that gold haul and reinforced the country’s status as the dominant regional force in the sport.

The clean performance in triathlon now shifts attention to the remaining events on the programme, with the Games continuing through the rest of the week. For the Mexican triathlon team, the work in Santo Domingo is complete, and the five golds will serve as a benchmark ahead of future international competitions.
