Brésil : démantèlement d’un réseau en ligne accusé d’avoir poussé une adolescente au suicide
Une opération policière dans cinq États a conduit à l’interpellation de cinq mineurs et à l’arrestation d’un jeune majeur, soupçonnés d’avoir contraint une jeune fille de 13 ans à attenter à ses jours lors d’une diffusion en direct.
Le 22 juillet dernier, une adolescente de 13 ans, prénommée Lívia, a mis fin à ses jours à son domicile de Naviraí, dans l’État du Mato Grosso do Sul. L’acte a été retransmis en direct pendant près de quarante-cinq minutes sur la plateforme Discord, selon les informations communiquées par le ministère brésilien de la Justice et de la Sécurité publique. Ce drame a déclenché l’opération Lívia, menée par la police civile du Mato Grosso do Sul avec l’appui technique du Laboratoire d’opérations cybernétiques (Ciberlab) de la Sécurité publique nationale.
Les investigations ont abouti à l’exécution de huit mandats de perquisition dans cinq États – Mato Grosso do Sul, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Pará et Rio de Janeiro. Cinq adolescents, âgés de 13 à 17 ans, ont été appréhendés, et un homme de 18 ans a été arrêté. Le chef présumé du groupe, un garçon de 14 ans, a été localisé à Rio de Janeiro. Un autre suspect, étudiant dans un séminaire du Pernambouc, a également été identifié. Les enquêteurs ont saisi ordinateurs, téléphones et autres supports numériques.
D’après les autorités, le réseau attirait des enfants et des adolescents dans des communautés virtuelles sur Discord et Telegram, où il les soumettait à une coercition psychologique visant à les pousser à la maltraitance animale, à l’automutilation et au suicide. Avant son passage à l’acte, Lívia avait été contrainte de torturer un chat, sans y parvenir. Les criminels avaient ouvert un compte Pix au nom de la victime pour lui envoyer de l’argent destiné à l’achat de lames. Le secrétaire national aux Droits numériques, Victor Fernandes, a dénoncé le non-respect par Discord et Telegram du Statut numérique de l’enfant et de l’adolescent (ECA Digital) : la diffusion en direct n’a pas été interrompue, le contenu n’a pas été retiré et les autorités n’ont pas été alertées.
Le ministre de la Justice, Wellington César Lima e Silva, a appelé les parents à une vigilance accrue face aux contenus en ligne. L’enquête se poursuit pour identifier d’éventuels autres membres du groupe et déterminer s’il existe d’autres victimes.
