Zepto delivery partner terminated after Bengaluru woman alleges harassment

A 25-year-old woman in Bengaluru said a Zepto delivery partner repeatedly tried to enter her home despite refusals, prompting the company to terminate his access.

A woman in Bengaluru has alleged that a Zepto delivery partner attempted to enter her home multiple times after delivering an order, an account she posted on social media. According to the woman, the delivery partner asked for drinking water and was given a full bottle, which he finished before requesting a refill. She said he then repeatedly asked to be allowed inside her home “for five minutes” and persisted even after she refused and suggested he sit outside.

The woman said that when she tried to close the gate, the delivery partner rang the doorbell several times and again asked to come inside. She alleged that after she shut the door, he began banging on the gate. The woman said she attempted to report the incident through Zepto’s app but received only an automated response stating that an investigation was underway.

In a public reply to her post, Zepto said it wanted to investigate the matter and asked the woman to share her order details and contact number via direct message. In a follow-up video, the woman stated that Zepto had “issued a restraining order against the driver,” preventing him from coming near her house, and had “terminated his ID.” She said she did not approach the police because she did not have the delivery partner’s details.

Earlier this month, a delivery executive from Flipkart was arrested after a woman alleged that he entered her flat without permission and sexually harassed her after asking to use her washroom, according to local reports. Zepto has not publicly commented beyond its initial social-media response.
