
Delhi Man Stabbed to Death After Objecting to Molestation of Woman in Park
A 30-year-old man died after being knifed when he and a female companion were accosted by a group in north-west Delhi; a juvenile has been detained.
A 30-year-old man was fatally stabbed in a park in north-west Delhi’s Ashok Vihar on Wednesday afternoon, according to Delhi Police. The victim, identified as Sunil, a native of Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, and a woman were confronted by three to four boys who allegedly tried to molest her, police said.
The incident occurred inside Khimman Singh Park. Police stated that a PCR call was received at 3.33 p.m., and officers arriving at the scene found the woman, a resident of Jahangirpuri, who reported that an altercation ensued after the attempted molestation. During the clash, one of the assailants attacked with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds on Sunil. The woman also sustained injuries.
Sunil was taken to a hospital, where he died during treatment. Akanksha Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West), confirmed that a murder case has been registered at Bharat Nagar police station under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police have apprehended one juvenile suspect and formed multiple teams to identify and arrest the remaining accused. The investigation is ongoing.
