The White House has lost credibility and the world has noticed. The decline of American authority is the result of wrong choices and internal divisions.
It attributes the loss of trust to Trump's personal traits and individual decisions, making the data reversible with a change of administration and downplaying structural factors.
It omits the role of US institutions and bipartisan foreign policy in the deterioration of the US image.
Trust in the US president is at historic lows, and for Latin America it is no surprise. The data speaks for itself: the United States is no longer the reliable leader it once was.
The statistical data is presented as irrefutable proof, avoiding in-depth analysis of causes and taking the decline of US hegemony for granted.
It omits the US domestic political context and possible methodological variables of the survey.
The United States is no longer the pillar to rely on. The collapse of trust forces Europe to strengthen its strategic autonomy.
It generalizes the survey data to a whole systemic trend, linking it to an urgency for European geopolitical repositioning, creating a direct causal link between trust and alliances.
It omits differences in perception among European countries and possible temporary fluctuations in public opinion.
