
刚果(金)埃博拉病例突破3500例,成为全球第二大疫情

刚果(金)卫生部7月31日公布的数据显示,该国埃博拉确诊病例已升至3532例,其中1556人死亡,病例数超过2018至2020年的上一次大暴发,成为有记录以来全球第二大规模的埃博拉疫情,仅次于2014至2016年西非疫情。目前仍有807名患者在接受隔离或住院治疗,病例死亡率达44.1%,接触者追踪率为78.7%。
本轮疫情由本迪布焦型埃博拉病毒引起,该毒株此前较为罕见,至今没有获批的疫苗或疗法。疫情自5月15日正式宣布以来,扩散速度比刚果(金)以往任何一次都更快,仅用约三个月死亡人数就突破1500人,而2018至2020年疫情达到同等规模用了十个月。在东北部伊图里省等地的难民营中,极度拥挤和卫生设施匮乏成为病毒传播的加速器。联合国难民署指出,基贡泽难民营的人口密度高达每平方公里约10万人,远超孟加拉国首都达卡,而营地仍缺少580座厕所才能达到最低国际标准。无国界医生组织表示,应对力量正“追赶疫情而非提前阻断”,资源被大型暴发点耗尽,难以在新地区出现早期信号时及时介入。
世界卫生组织已于5月17日将刚果(金)和乌干达的埃博拉疫情定为国际关注的突发公共卫生事件,并评估该区域传播风险极高。应对层面,牛津大学研发的一款本迪布焦疫苗已启动临床试验,上周首位志愿者接种了第一剂;新加坡希勒曼实验室则被世卫组织描述为“最有希望”的候选疫苗开发者。截至7月中旬,牛津试验已招募约20名受试者,整个试验可能持续四个月。非洲疾控中心现场负责人指出,疫情发现过晚,当前是在“与时间赛跑”。邻国乌干达本周宣布境内疫情结束,并已向刚果(金)边境地区派遣专家协助防控。
目前,布尼亚和鲁瓦姆帕拉等卫生区每周仍新增100至150例确诊病例,疫情尚未到达峰值。刚果(金)公共卫生研究所强调,冲突、采矿活动和高人口密度使本轮疫情比以往更为复杂,当局已建立20多个埃博拉治疗中心并加强社区监测,但控制疫情仍需公众在出现疑似症状时立即就医。下一阶段的关键节点将是疫苗临床试验的进展数据,以及跨境防控措施能否遏制病毒向中非和东非邻国扩散。
